Commercial Lending Associate

Match and Fable is recruiting a Commercial Lending Associate for a top-tier full-service law firm in Toronto. The lawyer will run commercial lending and secured-financing matters from initial instructions through closing, acting for lenders and borrowers on bilateral and syndicated transactions. The mandate includes drafting and negotiating credit agreements and security documents, coordinating closings and competing deadlines, dealing directly with clients and counterparties, providing practical business-minded advice, and working with experienced lending partners while taking on increasing independence.

• 2–5 years of post-call experience in commercial lending and secured financing.
• Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
• Experience with bilateral and syndicated transactions for lenders, borrowers or both.
• Demonstrated ability to manage files and client relationships from instructions through closing.
• Strong drafting, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong academic record and ability to work from the Toronto office three days per week.

Toronto, hybrid with three office days per week. Published salary: $155,000–$200,000+ CAD, plus 100% health benefits and an annual lifestyle spending allowance.
