Role description

Platinum Recruiting is recruiting a System Administrator in Kelowna for a construction/software environment. The role supports Linux/Windows infrastructure, networks, business systems, security and user administration.

Responsibilities

  • Administer networks and server environments, including Ubuntu/Linux and Windows systems.
  • Support Kubernetes-based infrastructure where applicable.
  • Maintain legacy network components and current hardware/software systems.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls.
  • Monitor security and troubleshoot system, network and application issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation, standards and recovery procedures.
  • Support data-recovery and business-continuity needs.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to infrastructure and operating standards.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree, diploma or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of similar systems-administration experience.
  • Ubuntu/Linux and MySQL experience required.
  • WatchGuard and QNAP experience are assets.
  • Strong networking and security knowledge.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly.
