The cutting operator runs the laser cutting machine to supply downstream production steps and maintain part quality.

Read work orders and prepare metal sheets.
Select and install the proper tools and choose programs on the machine interface.
Operate the laser cutter and monitor part quality throughout the process.
Report anomalies and perform basic machine maintenance.
Use cycle time efficiently.
Work with quality, drafting and estimating teams to solve problems.
Operate a forklift when required.

Experience operating a CNC machine is required, ideally laser cutting.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and perform simple calculations.
Good spatial visualization.
Comfort with a digital interface.
Knowledge of metric and imperial measurements.
Manual dexterity, good physical condition and ability to lift up to about 35 lb.
Autonomy, resourcefulness, logic and problem-solving skills.
