Role description
TorontoJobs.ca is recruiting a Senior Design Specialist for a manufacturer of custom equipment used in industrial applications across North America. The specialist develops client-specific designs, creates/reviews/approves detailed CAD, shop and production drawings, works with project managers and technical staff on feasibility and cost-effectiveness, performs structural calculations and analysis, supports proposals and estimates and provides technical input throughout project phases. The work integrates custom mechanical and structural equipment requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering; 10+ years of custom-equipment design such as construction machinery or bulk-material handling; SolidWorks, AutoCAD 2D and MS Office; strong welding-symbol, GD&T and tolerance-analysis knowledge; familiarity with structural calculations/codes such as ANSI/AISC 360 and CSA-16. Mechanical/electro-mechanical/hydraulic systems integration is an asset. Must be authorized to work in Canada and able to travel across North America.
