Role description
Opportunity
Newly created role in a Burnaby finance and accounting team, reporting to the Manager, Payroll and Benefits. The specialist will own Canadian payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance and related reporting.
Responsibilities
- Process semi-monthly, multi-province full-cycle payroll and provincial reporting.
- Handle CPP, EI, QPP, QPIP and EHT remittances and stay current on payroll and employment requirements.
- Administer health benefits and RRSP programs, disability statements, payroll journal entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain employee data, process annual increases/bonuses and prepare year-end T4 and RL-1 records.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business or a related field.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation.
- 5+ years of relevant payroll experience, including full-cycle multi-province payroll.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, payroll systems and Excel.
Additional information
Burnaby head office. On-site initially with one work-from-home day per week available after probation. Base salary $75,000–$80,000 plus annual bonus up to 10%, extended health benefits and RRSP contributions.
