Role description
About the opportunity
Waterstone Human Capital is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer for Gerrie Electric Wholesale Limited, a multi-branch, family-owned electrical distribution company. Based in Burlington, Ontario, the CFO is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for the organization’s financial health, integrity and long-term sustainability.
Key responsibilities
• Provide forward-looking financial insight to ownership and the executive team.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and enterprise-wide performance management.
• Establish and monitor KPIs that support profitability and cost-structure optimization.
• Oversee cash flow, liquidity and capital allocation.
• Lead banking relationships and financing strategies supporting investment, growth and acquisitions.
• Develop and lead high-performing Finance and IT teams.
• Improve scalability through technology and ERP systems.
• Translate financial and operational data into clear, actionable business insights.
• Partner with senior leadership to support continued long-term growth.
The role combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on execution in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
Qualifications
• Proven CFO-level experience in a multi-site distribution business or another comparably complex environment.
• Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance-management capability.
• Experience with cash flow, liquidity, capital allocation, banking and financing strategies.
• Strong business acumen and ability to turn data into actionable insight.
• Hands-on, analytical and collaborative leadership style.
• Experience developing Finance and IT teams and using ERP/technology to improve scalability is highly relevant.
