Accounting Manager

Role overview

Burke Recruiting is recruiting an Accounting Manager for a growing transportation and logistics organization. The role leads day-to-day accounting and financial reporting while supporting budgeting, cash flow, controls, compliance and operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Lead AP, AR, payroll, general ledger and month/year-end close activities.
• Monitor working capital, liquidity, banking relationships and financing arrangements.
• Strengthen internal controls, tax/regulatory compliance and audit coordination.
• Partner with operations on KPIs such as fleet utilization, fuel, maintenance and freight profitability, and support growth initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA required or strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting/financial management experience.
• At least 2 years in transportation, logistics, freight, distribution or supply chain.
• Strong ERP, QuickBooks, TruckMate and Excel capability.
• Excellent leadership, communication and analytical skills.

Full-time in-office role. The official source prints “Calgary, B.C.”; RBB preserves that source inconsistency in provenance while using Calgary, AB as the geographic normalization. Published salary: $90,000–$110,000 CAD, plus performance bonus and health/dental benefits.
