Accounting Supervisor

Role overview

A fast-growing Vancouver financial advisory and accounting-services firm is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join its leadership team. The role combines people leadership, client-accounting oversight, treasury controls and process improvement in a hybrid environment, with responsibility for bookkeeping quality, month-end close and payment workflows across client portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Accounting Team Lead and Treasury Specialists through coaching, feedback and career development.
• Oversee client-portfolio distribution, capacity, timesheets and billing accuracy.
• Maintain final oversight of month-end close, full-cycle bookkeeping and GST/PST filings.
• Review payment runs and wire releases and strengthen internal controls and fraud safeguards.
• Standardize workflows and optimize QBO, Xero, Dext and online banking systems.

• 4+ years of full-cycle accounting, AP or treasury experience and at least 2 years in supervision/team leadership.
• Post-secondary accounting, business, commerce or finance education; CPA or PEP progress preferred.
• Hands-on expertise with QBO, Xero, Dext and Canadian online banking platforms.
• Experience with internal controls, payment safeguards and segregation of duties.
• Advanced Excel and strong client-facing communication and multitasking skills.
