Role description
Role
SmartSkin Technologies is creating a dedicated senior leader for its multidisciplinary hardware and R&D organization in Fredericton. The team spans mechanical, electronics, embedded systems, materials and custom tooling. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the VP will bring clearer decision rights, priorities and operating structure while preserving the strengths of an experienced technical team.
Mandate
- Lead people, priorities and capacity across hardware engineering and R&D.
- Improve the path from research and development into reliable production.
- Strengthen process, documentation and execution against the product roadmap.
- Provide enough technical depth to make sound decisions across disciplines and coach senior contributors.
Terms
Meaningful on-site presence in Fredericton is required and relocation support is available. Base salary is approximately $150,000–$200,000 plus a 20% performance bonus.
Qualifications
- Strong technical depth in at least one hardware engineering discipline plus breadth across multidisciplinary product development.
- Experience building structure and accountability in a capable technical organization.
- Leadership experience across R&D, hardware development or adjacent complex engineering environments.
- Previous VP title or prior sensor-industry experience is not required.
