Heavy Equipment / Mobile Equipment Mechanic

Role overview

Reporting to the supervisor, the mobile-service mechanic performs inspections, preventive and scheduled maintenance, and mechanical repairs on construction equipment and heavy road vehicles used across the client’s different sites and divisions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment such as cranes, shear-equipped excavators, mobile loaders and forklifts.
• Check equipment operation and diagnose abnormalities.
• Repair or modify components, parts and systems as required.
• Complete maintenance work orders and inspection records with the tasks performed.
• Report problems, required actions or time overruns to the supervisor.
• Keep the work area clean and safe and follow the company’s occupational-health-and-safety policies and procedures.

• Vocational diploma in construction-equipment mechanics or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of construction-equipment mechanical experience.
• Forklift, skid-steer or other machinery-operating experience is an asset.
• Excellent manual dexterity, organization, autonomy, resourcefulness, analytical thinking and efficient work execution.
