Underground Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Role overview

A Northern Ontario mining operation is seeking an Underground Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair mobile equipment used below ground, including loaders, trucks and drills. The role combines preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosis, inspection, service-record documentation and communication with maintenance planners in a safety-critical underground environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair underground loaders, trucks, drills and related mobile equipment.
• Diagnose faults and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Conduct inspections and ensure work meets safety requirements.
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with planners.

• Minimum three years of experience on underground heavy equipment.
• Certificate of Qualification 421A or related trade certification preferred.
• Strong diesel-engine, hydraulic and electrical-diagnostic knowledge.
• Ability to work in physically demanding and confined underground environments.
• Red Seal certification is an asset.
