Role overview

A Northern Ontario mining operation is recruiting a Long-Hole Drill (ITH) Operator for underground work. The operator runs mechanized long-hole drilling equipment to create blast holes according to engineering specifications and must control drill patterns, angles and depth while maintaining safety and accuracy in a demanding underground environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate mechanized long-hole drilling equipment and drill blast holes to engineering specifications.
• Read and interpret drill plans, layouts and geological maps.
• Complete drill patterns, hole angles and depths accurately and safely.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and assist with minor repairs.
• Follow mine-safety protocols, operating procedures and company standards.

• Minimum five years of long-hole drilling experience in underground mining.
• Experience with mechanized drilling systems and hydraulic rigs.
• Strong knowledge of underground mine-safety practices and regulations.
• Ability to work independently in remote and physically demanding conditions.
