Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the opportunity

TekRek is recruiting a Senior Full Stack Engineer in Vancouver for a venture-backed Canadian company building an AI platform for property and casualty insurance agencies and brokerages.

The engineer will lead the design and delivery of revenue-generating enterprise web products, spanning a React front end, Python services and data stores.

Key responsibilities

• The role owns technical direction, architecture, security, scalability and long-term system health; works with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes; mentors and helps hire engineers; and partners with product, customer-success and engineering leadership to turn customer problems into shipped outcomes.
• The position remains hands-on while carrying meaningful technical-leadership responsibility.

Qualifications

• The posting seeks ten to fifteen years of software-development experience and a history of shipping and running production systems at scale.
• Candidates should have designed architectures across user interfaces, APIs, backends and databases and bring strong React/TypeScript and Python/Django skills together with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Practical AWS, Docker and Kubernetes experience is expected, as is experience with observability and product metrics.
• Strong technical judgment, mentoring ability and interest in AI-assisted engineering are important.

Position details

• Full-time role in Vancouver, British Columbia.
• Public TekRek range: CAD 160,000–190,000 per year.
