1st Class Operating/Power Engineer (Assistant Chief)

Role overview

Trans-United Consultants is recruiting a permanent 1st Class Operating/Power Engineer to act as Assistant Chief in the Windsor GTA area. The position supports the Chief Engineer in the operation, maintenance and repair of central utility and building systems that keep industrial processes and facilities running reliably. The technical scope includes power-generation and utility equipment as well as associated mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer with reliable operation and maintenance of facility utility systems.
• Support HVAC, boilers, chillers, steam turbines and engines, gas-compression equipment, air compressors and purified-water systems.
• Coordinate maintenance/repair work and respond to changing operating priorities.
• Maintain safe, reliable utility support for industrial process and building requirements.
• Apply high-level operating-engineer judgment in a fast-paced environment.

• 1st Class Operating/Power Engineer licence.
• Either two years’ experience as a 1st Class Operating/Power Engineer or five years as a 2nd Class Operating/Power Engineer with a 1st Class licence.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organization, detail orientation and multitasking capability.
• Broad knowledge of central utility and power-generation systems.
